Orderite began in November 2001 providing electronic order entry solutions to the food service industry. Today, the company has evolved from order entry solutions to the food service and non-food related industries, and is being utilized in areas such as food safety, corporate compliance, education assessment and curriculum, marketing research, distribution, employment services and others. We now market the handheld and the suite of options and services under the name Touchblock. This new strategy allows us to provide and promote our technology to encompass many industries and applications and to avoid the stigma of being just an order entry company.
While there are other handhelds out there, primarily PDA's and "gun like" bar code scanners, none are designed like the Touchblock. The rugged high impact design, color display and touchscreen, long battery life and ease of use are several features our users readily accept and embrace. On the technical side of things, features that set us apart from all competition are multiple communication options, including wireless, easy data transfers, the ability to track, monitor and remotely update any and all units in the field from our central office and our easy programmable platform. When we identify a new application and/or client it typically takes only days to program the user interface and data transfer protocols. Historically, for any company, this process can take months and sometimes years to develop.
We work with numerous companies and they all use the Touchblock solution in unique ways. Even though the companies, applications and environments are quite different, the technology is not. We utilize virtually all of the same technology for all of these applications and simply customize what the user experiences.
